What does Herald do?
Herald checks how readable each of your products is to AI shopping assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode, fixes the gaps with one click, and tracks whether your store actually shows up when shoppers ask those assistants what to buy.
How is this different from regular SEO?
Traditional SEO targets blue-link search rankings. Herald optimizes for how AI assistants read and recommend products — the structured data and clear, complete product information those systems rely on. It is discoverability built for the AI era.
What does “Fix with AI” change on a product?
It rewrites the product description, sets a product type and tags, fills in the SEO title and meta description, and adds schema.org structured data. It only updates the fields it enriches, and you can review or edit anything afterward in your normal product editor.
Will Herald change my products without my permission?
No. Herald reads your catalog to score it, but it only writes changes when you click “Fix with AI” or “Fix all.” Nothing is edited automatically.
What is the Agent Readiness Score?
A 0–100 score showing how easily AI shopping agents can parse, trust, and recommend each product, based on its structure, content, technical SEO, and trust signals. The dashboard shows the exact gaps for every product.
How do AI visibility checks work?
Each check runs a live, web-grounded search to see whether an AI assistant recommends your store for a specific buyer query, where you rank if you appear, and which competitors are recommended instead.
Do you access or store my customers’ data?
No. Herald works only with product data. It does not access or store buyer names, emails, addresses, orders, or payment information. See our privacy policy for details.
What data is shared with third parties?
To generate enrichment and run visibility checks, product information such as titles, descriptions, and images is sent to Anthropic (the Claude AI provider). Herald does not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Do I need to edit code or my theme?
No code is required. Herald runs inside your Shopify admin. Adding structured data to your storefront is an optional one-click theme app embed.
How is Herald priced?
Herald has a free plan plus paid Starter, Growth, and Plus plans with higher monthly limits on enrichments and visibility checks. Subscriptions are billed securely through Shopify.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
When you uninstall, Herald automatically and permanently deletes all data associated with your store. Any structured data Herald wrote to your products stays in your Shopify store under your control.
